Tomato Chutney /Thakkali Chutney

  • 1. Tomato-3
  • 2. Dry Red chilli-3-4
  • 3. Onion-2
  • 4. Ginger-1tsp
  • 5. Garlic-1
  • 6. Green Chilli-1
  • 7. Green Chilli-3
  • 8. Sesame Oil-2tbsp
  • 9. Jaggerry/Sugar-one pinch
  • 10. Salt-1 pinch


1. Heat oil and roast chilli and keep aside

2. In the same oil add onion, ginger,garlic,salt ,green chilli and curry leaves Saute till the onion become slight brown shade

3. Then add tomato pieces and close the kadai and cook well

4. When cooked well ,open the kadai and roast it

5. Then allow to cool In a small jar add this mix along with roasted chilli and jaggery or sugar

6. Grind to a fine paste Check the salt,Adjust if needed

7. So the yummy spicy tasty tomato chutney is ready to serve

8. Best combination with idli , dosa,uthappam,chapathi,poori even with rice
