Sweet Pongal

INGREDIENTS

  • 1. Raw Rice 1 cups
  • 2. Split green gram 3/4 cups
  • 3. Jaggery,small blocks 2 nos
  • 4. Ghee 1/4 cups
  • 5. Ground Nut , (roasted,peeled & splited) 1/4 cups
  • 6. Cashew 20 nos
  • 7. Raisans 10 nos
  • 8. Elaichi Powder 1/4 tsp
  • 9. Water splitted(for rice & dal cooking) & (for jaggery suyup) 4 cups

PREPARATION

1. Dry roast splited green gram until you get nice aroma

2. In a pressure cooker add washed raw rice & roasted green gram & water

3. Cook for 3 vishals

4. Take another pan & add jaggery & water & bring it to a boil

5. Cook for 20 mins & once it cool downs strain the syrup with a strainer

6. And add this syrup to the cooked rice & dal mixture

7. Combine well & cook for 10 mins

8. Lastly roast raisains & cashew with ghee & put it on top the pongal

9. Transfer this to a serving dish

10. Note: U can add grated coconut (optional)
