Spinach Dal

INGREDIENTS

  • 1. Moong dal 150 grams
  • 2. Chopped spinach 200 grams
  • 3. Chopped onion 1
  • 4. Chopped garlic 7 cloves
  • 5. Chopped ginger 1/2 tsp
  • 6. Tomato 1 chopped
  • 7. Oil 2 tbsp
  • 8. Jeera 1 tsp
  • 9. Hing 1 pinch
  • 10. Bay leaf 1
  • 11. Ghee 1 tbsp
  • 12. Turmeric powder 1/4tsp
  • 13. Red chilli powder 1 tsp
  • 14. Salt 1 tsp

PREPARATION

1. In a pressure cooker add dal spinach and water. Add salt and turmeric powder.

2. Cook for 3 whistles

3. Let the pressure release.

4. In a pan heat oil

5. Add jeera and hing

6. Add bay leaf

7. Add onion ginger and garlic. Cook till onions are done

8. Add tomatoes and cook till mushy

9. Add red chilli powder and mix well

10. Add the dal spinach

11. Add ghee and simmer for 2 to 3 minutes

12. Serve with chapatis or rice
