Peas and Tomato Pulao

INGREDIENTS

  • 1. Basmati rice 1 Cups
  • 2. Tomato 2 Nos
  • 3. Onion 1 Nos
  • 4. Ginger garlic paste 1/2 Teaspoons
  • 5. Green Peas 1/4 Cups
  • 6. Turmeric Powder 1/4 Teaspoons
  • 7. Garam Masala 1/2 Teaspoons
  • 8. Red Chilli Powder 3/4 Teaspoons
  • 9. Green Chilli 2 Nos
  • 10. Coriander Leaves 2 Tablespoons
  • 11. Oil 2 Tablespoons(To Temper)
  • 12. Ghee 2 Tablespoons(To Temper)
  • 13. Elaichi 1 Nos(To Temper)
  • 14. Cinnamon 1 piece(To Temper)
  • 15. Clove 1 Nos(To Temper)
  • 16. Bay leaf 1 Nos(To Temper)
  • 17. Dried and minced cilantro 1/2 Tablespoons(to Garnish)
  • 18. Dash of Garlic 1/2 Teaspoons(to garnish)
  • 19. Herb sauce 1/2 Tablespoons(to Garnish)

PREPARATION

1. Chop tomatoes finely, slice onion and slit green chillies.Soak basmati rice for at least 1 hour.

2. Heat a pressure cooker with oil,ghee and temper with the items given under ?To temper? ingredients.

3. Add green chillies, onions and fry till onion turns transparent. Add ginger garlic paste, green peas and fry for a minute. Then add tomatoes.

4. Add salt, turmeric, masala powder and red chilli powder. Fry till the tomatoes turn mushy..

5. Drain the soaked rice and add it. Fry for a minute and add 1 cup of water, coriander leaves. Bring to boil and pressure cook until 2 whistles in low flame.

6. You can top with a tsp of ghee and mix well when you open the cooker.

7. Transfer this to a serving dish and garnish with dash of garlic,herb sauce and dried and minced cilantro.

9. This is an easy and simple rice dish Serve with any raita or mild kurma.
