orange chicken gravy

INGREDIENTS

  • 1. 200 gm boneless chicken
  • 2. 1 tablespoon crushed black pepper
  • 3. 1 egg
  • 4. 1 teaspoon salt
  • 5. 4 tablespoon all purpose flour
  • 6. 5-6 tablespoon oil for frying
  • 7. 4 tablespoon water
  • 8. 4 tablespoon cornflour
  • 9. 2 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 10. 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 11. juice of 1 orange
  • 12. 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • 13. 1.5 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 14. 1.5 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 15. 1 tablespoon white sesame seeds
  • 16. 4 tablespoon chopped parsley
  • 17. 2 tablespoons of chopped green onions

PREPARATION

1. beat the egg and marinate the chicken pieces with it, black pepper and 1/2 teaspoon salt

2. combine all purpose flour and 2 tablespoon of cornflour

3. heat the oil for frying in a wok

4. coat the marinated chicken with the flour mix well

5. fry the chicken till they turn crisp on Low- medium heat and take them off heat

6. make a slurry of water and the remaining cornflour

7. discard the excess oil in the wok after retaining 2 tablespoons

8. heat the oil and add the ginger garlic paste

9. sauté for 2-3 minutes

10. reduce heat and add in the orange zest and the juice

11. add brown sugar, remaining salt, cornflour slurry and soy sauce

12. bring it to boil and add the fried chicken

13. cook covered till the gravy thickens on Low heat

14. take off heat and garnish with green onions, sesame seeds and parsley

15. serve hot with rice delicacies
