Muthira Puzhukku /Muthira Ularthiyathu /Muthira Thoran/Horse Gram Stir Fry

INGREDIENTS

  • 1. Muthira/Horsegram 1 cups
  • 2. Small onion 12 nos
  • 3. Crushed chilli flakes 2 tsp
  • 4. Curry leaves 2 sprig
  • 5. Coconut Oil 2 tbsp
  • 6. Salt 1 tsp
  • 7. Water 2 cups
  • 8. Grated coconut 2 tbsp

PREPARATION

1. Clean the gram well

2. Soak for 30 minutes

3. Then wash well and pressure cook for 4-5 whistles by adding salt and 2 cups of water in medium flame

4. Crush onion and red chilli

5. Heat oil in a kadai and add onion-chilli mix along with curry leaves

6. Saute till the raw smell goes

7. Then add coconut and saute for 2 minutes

8. Now add cooked muthira and mix well

9. Cook for few more minutes until u get a semi medium thick consistency,Check the salt

10. Finally sprinkle some coconut oil and curry leaves,mix well

11. Close for 5 minutes,Now serve with kanji, rice,puttu etc
