INGREDIENTS

  • 1. Matter Daal/Peas Daal- 1 cups
  • 2. Chana Daal 1/4 cups
  • 3. Green Chilli 6 nos
  • 4. Dry Red chilli 6 nos
  • 5. Small onions 15 nos
  • 6. Ginger,medium 1 nos
  • 7. Curry Leaves 2 sprig
  • 8. Asafoetida powder 1/4 tsp
  • 9. Salt 1 tsp
  • 10. Coconut Oil 300 ml

PREPARATION

1. Soak both daal for 2 hours

2. wash well and drain

3. Crush ginger chillies, curry leaves ,small onion together

4. In a bowl add these along with asafoetida powder

5. Reserve 2 tbsp dal and grind rest of the dal to coarse paste

6. Then mix this to the onion mix

7. Heat oil in a kadai

8. when the oil is medium hot

9. mix salt to the dal mixture, mix well

10. Make small balls and press between the palm and make vada

11. Deep fry in medium flame till cooked well

12. So the tasty nadan vada is ready to serve
