Green rice/ Curry leaves and coriander leaves rice

Green rice as it is called due it's appearance. This green colour is due to curry leaves and coriander leaves or hara dhania ke pathe in Hindi. It is very easy to prepare and is also a healthy lunch. It is full of vitamins and minerals that is essential for the health.

  • 1. Curry leaves 1 cup
  • 2. Coriander leaves 1 cup
  • 3. Garlic pods 10
  • 4. Onion 2 big ( you can also use white onion)
  • 5. Tomato 2 nos
  • 6. Ginger 1 inch piece
  • 7. Turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon
  • 8. Red chilli powder 1 teaspoon
  • 9. Green chillies 2 nos chopped finely
  • 10. Garam masala powder 1 teaspoon
  • 11. Sunflower Oil 2 tablespoons
  • 12. Salt 1 teaspoon
  • 13. Rice 1 cup boiled


1. Fry chopped onions, garlic, tomatoes, green chillies, and ginger

2. When they are slightly softened, add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, garam masala powder and saute for a few minutes.

3. Now grind the curry leaves and coriander leaves into a smooth paste in a blender or mixie adding 1 or 2 teaspoon of water

4. Now add this group paste to the mixture in the kadai

5. Now saute the above mixture well for 2 to 5 minutes

6. Now add the boiled cup of rice and mix well. Green rice or Curry leaves and coriander leaves rice is ready to be tasted. Serve with onion raita
