  • 1. Whole wheat flour 2 cups
  • 2. Carom seeds (ajwain) 1 tbsp
  • 3. Vegetable oil / clarifying butter (ghee) 3 tbsp
  • 4. Chilly powder 1 tbsp
  • 5. Salt 1 pinch
  • 6. Vegetable oil -for shallow frying 150 ml


1. Take a large bowl

2. Mix all dry ingredients as wheat flour, carom seeds, chilly powder,salt and 3 tbsp vegetable oil together

3. Rub properly for 1 minute with help of both palm

4. Make semi hard dough with help of luke warm water

5. Knead it gently for 5 minutes

6. Now cover the dough with damp cloth and keep aside for 1/2 an hour

7. Divide dough in equal parts and make lemon size ball

8. Make round shape parathas with help of cylinder shape wodden log

9. Heat a heavy bottom pan on medium heat

10. Put one paratha on the pan,Turn it after 30 seconds

11. Now sprinkle little oil on it and cook both sides till light brown colour

12. Take out from pan and keep it in a plate

13. Repeat this process for rest of parathas till done

14. Serve hot parathas with any type of vegetables, curd and pickle
