Paneer Recipes

Paneer is referred to as Non Melting farmers Fresh Cheese, most commonly used in South Asia, Especially in India.
The word Paneer is originated from Persia. The Turkish word peynir, the Persian word panir, the Azerbaijani word pendir, and the Armenian word panir; all are derived from paneer.The origin of word paneer is debated, as Vedic Indian, Portuguese-Bengali, Afghan-Iranian have their own origins proposed for paneer.

Paneer is usually prepared by Churning Heated Milk with any Food Acids such as lemon juice, vinegar, citric acid or yogurt, to Separate the Curd and liquid remain(Whey) from the Milk. The curd is drained using cheesecloth and the excess water is pressed out. This Drained Curd is dipped in chilled water for 2 to 3 hours to improve its appearance and texture. The resulting curd obtained is Paneer. The preparation of paneer diverges based on its use and regional tradition.
There are a wide varieties of recipes made with Paneer.Paneer is more commonly used in India, Nepal, Bangladesh and Pakistan. Paneer is covered with dough and is deep fried or served with either spinach as palak paneer or peas as mattar paneer. Besides, the mouthwatering Rasgulla, Rasmalai are made with plain Paneer chhana beaten by hand and shaped into balls which are then boiled in sugar syrup. The Paneer chhena used in such cases is manufactured by a slightly different procedure from that of paneer; it is drained but not pressed, so that some moisture is retained, which makes the sweet soft.

 

Earlier Paneer was only used in traditional food, but now so many Paneer-based foods are available. Paneer Wrap, saag paneer patty, McSpicy Paneer, Paneer momo, pizzas with paneer toppings are examples. Some Paneer recipes includes Paneer tikka which is a vegetarian version of chicken tikka,in which paneer placed is on skewers and roasted,Shahi paneer in which paneer is cooked in a rich curry,Chili paneer is usually served dry and is garnished with spring onions, Mattar paneer (paneer with peas),Paneer capsicum (paneer and bell peppers in raisin cream sauce),Paneer pakora,Sandesh,Chhena murgi,Paneer tikka masala,kadai paneer,Palak paneer.
